To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'systemcore' = '%APPDATA%\systemcore\syscore.exe'
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'systemcore' = '\systemcore\syscore.exe'
Malicious functions:
Creates and executes the following:
- '%TEMP%\<File name>\<File name>.exe'
Executes the following:
- '<SYSTEM32>\ping.exe' 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 1000
- '<SYSTEM32>\cmd.exe' /C ping 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 1000 > Nul & Del "<Full path to file>"
Modifies file system:
Creates the following files:
- %APPDATA%\Imminent\Path.dat
- %APPDATA%\Imminent\Monitoring\system.dat
- %APPDATA%\Imminent\Monitoring\network.dat
- %APPDATA%\Imminent\Logs\11-11-2017
- %TEMP%\<File name>\<File name>.exe
- C:\systemcore\syscore.exe
- %APPDATA%\systemcore\syscore.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- %TEMP%\<File name>\<File name>.exe
Deletes itself.
Network activity:
Connects to:
- 'localhost':20000
